Namaskar dear brothers and sisters,
I was wondering if there are any bhaktas out there who can possibly translate the meaning of this bhajan. I cannot seem to get it out of my mind, which i am glad for, though it would be nice to have the translation. Here is it typed out minus the hyphens(sp.?) etc...)
Sri Rama Namamu
Sri Rama Namamu
Yento Manchi Madhuramu
Madhuradi Madhuramu
Mana Kande Amritamu
Tata Kama Jim Jim Munula
Kapadina Namamu
Ravanadi Rakshasulanu
Gedi Inchina Namamu
I believe it is speaking of Sri Rama's sweetness and nectar though wondering if anyone else can depict the rest...
Maha Bhav Ki Jai... ;o)

It is malayalam or at least from some of the words that i have tried to see the meaning in the translation when looking them up. Manu is there a online malayalam to english link online?

Re: Translation
Tue, September 18, 2007 - 6:58 AMI am thinking it is not malayalam, usually their are many more letters to each word. Many v's, double k's y's and z's. Thank you anyway dear Pritam.

Re: Translation
Tue, September 18, 2007 - 3:39 PMSo i googled around a bit and did not have much luck finding kannada~english translations though i did find a link for telegu~english translations which is seeming to work, being that kannada stems from telegu.
here is the link in case anyone ever needs it:
dsal.uchicago.edu/dictionaries/brown/
when i have more time i will depict it a little more. Though i think the bhajan is singing about possibly the birth of Sri Rama and his sweetness...
Namaskar,

Re: Translation
Tue, September 18, 2007 - 10:07 PMThank you Balaraman...
after seeing the telugu translations i was thinking it most likely was indeed telugu, except that there were still a few words that did not translate. So then thought maybe it was the kannada language piggybacking off of telugu.
So I am thinking your mother tounge (native language) is Tamil (along with english) do you also know telugu by chance? just wondering...
Also thanks for the possible originator of the bhajan/kirtan, i appreciate this.
Namaskar,
